Mixed Emotions Today - Pray for Carlos!

Today mama and I started our new adventure with the PATH. We took two men to look for employment. They filled out several applications, brought many blank application forms back to their rooms to fill out and submit later. Mama led us in prayer as we started today's journey. We put 50 miles on the car going from one employer to the next. Pray for these two men in your prayers.

Carlos (do not know his real name) arrived at the PATH while we were on the road this morning. He is about 21 years of age. He walked there from who knows where. He had not ate for three days. I think of Tam's "Fill in Friday" for today; "It's much easier to turn and look the other way than to get involved." I know, each of us is limited in what we can do, but I also think we need to make sure we are instruments and servants of Christ. Pray for Carlos - as we sleep tonight he will be also looking for a place to lay his head.

You are showing SIGNS of LIFE the title of one of the books I'm reading. Praying for Carlos and you and Mama and all the lives you will touch with love! Thank you!

Thanks Robin - I feel blessed but so frustrated today. The two men both admit to making bad choices and now they struggle to get on with their lives.

Is there a shelter where he could be warm and fed and sleep? I think you are doing exactly what God wants you to do. Next time you go, take a few peantbutter and Jelly sandwiches along and offer them to the ones you are helping..it doesn't sound like much but if they are hungry it will be better than anything! Keeping you and mama in my prayers, and also all the Carlos'we encounter in this world. ODD, I have noticed that being real in all this will speak louder than anything else, and if I share what I have even if I don't have it,God always replenishes my needs. Being the hands and feet of God is very beautiful to me that HE would allow us to do that with HIM.

Love you both! Darla

Darla - when we left the PATH they were working with other churches and groups to find Carlos some help. The PATH was at capacity. The ones we are helping are about 4 weeks into an 8 week program - doing good, plenty of food. God is good to us isn't he!

Darla,

I love what you said, "and if I share what I have even if I don't have it,God always replenishes my needs. Being the hands and feet of God is very beautiful to me that HE would allow us to do that with HIM." Amen to that!

Papa- thinking about your frustration with the men admiting thier bad choices, and still struggling...

could it be because there are repercussions to our bad choices, and God could fix it all immediately but we would think we did it, instead of knowing that it was HIM. IF we struggle and see deliverance we aren't so quick to forget...i don't know for sure, but I have felt that frustration and its hard to put a finger on the cause. Darla

I was just telling Dylan tonight that there are people who are not as lucky as he is to have a warm house and a bed all his own. This makes me sad. I hate thinking about all of the people who don't have places to rest their heads.

You are an encouragement to me when I grow weary. There is so many who truly haven't heard the truth of our God, and are desperate to know there is hope. I know all will not accept this truth but some will. The fields are white with harvest, and sometimess it seems to me that the workers are still few, but the churches are full and growing. What do you make of that?

Are you waiting for 10 comments again?? I will be happy to help you get those, so that I can hear some more Papa and Mama thoughts. Does retirement in Florida have a time you all get out the bed? I am looking forward to those years, just want to know if I will have to get out the bed before the sun comes up??

hahahaha am I number 10?? I have never been a 10! or are we still not counting your comments??

I just got home (11:15am).. I got up at 6am, so much for sleeping in when retired! I work Monday & Wednesday mornings at the horse rescue farm/sanctuary.

I plan to make a new post after lunch. Some "profound" words of wisdom! ha! First I have to get mama out of her book and fix her man some food - she needs to do her "wifie" thing! :o)

I've heard that retirement is busier than non-retirement :)

So what book was Mama reading before you pried her away? I love to read!

So, did Carlos find a place to lay his head?

Tam - When I left they were working with the Salvation Army and feverishly looking at other alternatives. He was getting food I know that. I will check Wednesday.
