Family Festival time! Every 4th of July!

WE live on a large (300 plus acres) church campground. Approximately 80 churches call this their campground. We have lived here 14 years. Each 4th of July is Family Festival Time! What fun! We have a family reunion each 4th of July that runs for several days. Each year they have a parade - our float has taken 1st place each of the last 4 years we have competed!

Family is so important. Handle the relationships with care - please?

Okay now YOUR life sounds like so much fun!! How I would love to be around it!

Living on a campground? Now that I could get used to! I told Jake that there are only TWO things I want after he retires and since I am committed to following him around in his career, I should get to do these two things when he is done. 1) I want to own/run my own coffee shop. This is a huge dream of mine. 2) I want to live at a campground during the summer. I really want to do that campground hostess thing. That would be AWESOME! :D

I can't wait to hear more about your life. Ahh Papa! I love your blog. :D

Now if you come Brandy, bring the family. We will hop on my golf cart take the kids down to the "tot lot" and play. Then we will swing by the snack bar, get some ice cream. Then in the evening after a picnic, go to a concert at the tabernacle. If its not too late after the concert we will take a sunset cruise on my pontoon around the lake. Now this is just the first day! The next day I get to pull Jake behind my Malibu Sportster LX Tournament Ski boat. His choice; ski's, wake board or tube! If he is on the tube, I WILL dump him!

Come on by folks - would love to see you all! If we overflow the house, there are three different motel facilities on the grounds, RV camping area, primitive cabins and even a new 112 bed dormitory!

Are you ready to do your hostess thing Brandy??

Every once in awhile "Anonymous" (Carol) our Executive Directors wife comments on my blog. Maybe she will and add her 2 cents worth.

Tam - I get excited talking about the camp where we live. It is phenomenal! From Memorial Day until the end of September, usually we have company every weekend at our house. I have "big" toys (smile) that belong to God. Mama and I decided to get them as an attractor to bring people down to our house. Even the tube is big! LOL It will hold three adults / four children! Our house is a small 3 bedroom ranch with 2 more bedrooms in the basement! We planned for company!

Sounds so great! I was a camp counselor for kids camp this summer and LOVED it. I too would love to live at camp. One summer I was a camp counselor for the 2/3 or the summer and the other third I volunteered at a home for abused children. It was the best summer ever.

How exciting it would be to be there for that. That's so generous to plan that type of even every year. Very Cool!

Carol checking in. I would suggest going to the camp web site at www.nazcamp.org to check out pictures of the campgrounds, our Family Festival pictures, our Super Saturday Concerts for 2008, our youth camps for this summer, and the facilities which can be rented individually or for group gatherings. Maybe indian lake papa should plan a "blog reunion".

And for those who truly are interested in living on a campground, check out our Props2Buy section in our web page. There's a little catch...you have to be Nazarene. But how hard can that be?

indian lake papa makes life interesting around here. He was our sheriff for a while! Another nice hangout after dark is at the corner bonfire. Sitting in Michigan with all this snow, I wonder...will those days ever come again? We miss our snowbirds while they are gone!!!

Yep, Carol even gave me western style badge that said "sheriff"! All done in jest - I was kinda a cross between Clint Eastwood and Barney Fife - kinda - "Fifewood"
