My trip to Mississippi - & - poor Papa :) !!

Hi to you all! This is mama !! I had a wonderful trip! Nine of us left in our church van and drove 9 hours to Gauthier, MS. We arrived at 1AM Friday morning and had to set up our cots & sleeping bags in a local church recreation center. 140 other people were there already so we had to be quiet as we went to bed.

At 6:30AM they woke us for breakfast. Short night! After breakfast we had devotions then they bussed us to Gulfport, MS where we did various construction tasks at different sites. I was assigned to a local church that had been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. My job was to help lay floor tile in the men's restroom! :( ! They fed us well and all activities were well planned. On Saturday we did the same thing. Evening activities included such things as table games and just meeting new people. You know I like table games! Too bad Papa couldn't have come, I beat him quite often at table games, but I still love him! :)

On Sunday Morning we left at 8am to go home. I surprised Papa at church at 6PM. He wasn't expecting me until later! I grabbed him and gave him a hug and a kiss! He was very busy wrapping up church elections for the day. He was the elections coordinator. We finally got home about 8:30PM. Let me clear up one matter - I have no tattoo's! :) Papa told me all about that and read me Tam's "story". Very funny! I want to thank you for keeping papa entertained and somewhat out of mischief. We missed each other very much. He is my very best friend.

Love you all -
MAMA

SO GLAD YOU'RE HOME MAMA!!!

I mean really, really glad! Papa's a handful! How DO YOU do it?

;-)

Sounds like your time in MS was amazing! What a great outreach and service that is! I am so honored to "know" you Mama!

What? NO TATTOOS?!!! I'm thinking Papa might enjoy seeing a tattoo on ya! Oh my! i would have loved to heard Papa read back Fill in Fridays story to you - HAHA!

I lived in Gulf Port in the early 80's. Don't remember much about it except that I didn't like it cuz I had moved there from the beaches of Southern California ;( Really? Who does that to a child?! =o

Welcome Home!!!

I guess we're all "Off Duty" now.

love you!
Tam

Hi Tam - This is Mama...Yes, I can understand you not wanting to move as a child. Our daughter felt the same way about us moving her around while she was growing up. We did it anyway.:(
The big reason for no tattoos is it would hurt and I don't like pain. That is why I don't get my ears pierced either. I am a big Baby when it comes to thinking about something hurting. Ha! So sorry
no tattoos. :)
The story was funny :) Papa had fun with it though!! Thanks for keeping him busy. Love to all and good night.

Hi Mama. What great work you are doing, although it sounds like you enjoyed your trip too much to call it work. What a great example you set for the rest of us.

Papa, is very lucky to have found someone who can put up with him, and for forty years no less. :) It is easy to tell from his post how much he misses you when you are apart.

I hope Papa did not leave too much work for you to do when you got home. :)

All married couples could learn something from the two of you.

I do think that getting matching tattoos would be a neat idea. :)

Hi Mama,

Welcome Home! We had several from our church go to the Gulf area on Work and Witness type trips and my brother went for three weeks a couple years ago. I would enjoy going on a trip like that at some point...

I'm with you on tattoos and piercings - I try to avoid pain also.

Hope your week goes great! Greetings to Papa too, sorry I didn't make it down to do his laundry before you got back :)

MAMA!!! Yeah! You are home! Poor Papa was so lost without you!! He was starting to hallucinate about loin cloths and tattoos!! haha!!

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun! I love trips like that....I went to Mexico three times when I was in highschool to help build houses. One of my best memories. :D I wish I could still do more of that, but with the babies being babies....it will have to wait awhile. ;-)

Hey, I am working with Tam to do a video chat with you and Papa before I move to ND. I am so excited at the thought of it!! :D

Janis - I am well behaved!! A nice guy!

Brandy - cool pic eh?!! I actually picked some of the flowers! The crown is made of real flowers and I made it!

((He needs "crowned" all right.)) Too bad papa didn't wear his hat for Easter services. In the picture it looks like his shirt might match which is very important you know. We wouldn't want him to look wierd or out of place by not having matching clothes with his very lovely hat.

Janis - I look like a Greek mythological god - don't you think?

Uhhhh! Do greek mythylogical gods look downright silly??? lol

Actually I think the hat is very pretty...for mama, maybe!

papa- nevermind janis...it takes a real man secure in his masculinity to wear flowers in thier hair..hahaha I have one of hubs with a daisy in his hair...hahaha I did put it there, but he left it there for me for a while! :)

Janie- Love to you! carry on..raz him if you must, I think he likes it!

Darla - One daisy compared to a whole flower garden!!!!

Janis & Darla - Any idea where the picture was taken? Heh Heh! I AM secure in my masculinity - even if I do have a feminine flair in the picture!

Hopefully the picture was taken in some isolated place where no people were around to have to witness it. My first guess would be Hawaii(because of all the flowers) ....and way down deep in a volcano. (inactive, of course) That would be pretty isolated

My second guess would be on that trip to Sweden you took. I know absolutely nothing about flowers there so I have no idea where I got that thought from! It takes pure intelligence to think these great things up!

Very good Janis! Sweden it was! I will explain in my next post!
