One of God's greatest gifts to me - Mama!

Mama is special blogging family! Sorry, there is only one and she is all mine! She is my bestest friend and has ALWAYS strived to be the perfect mate - and has done exceptionally well! One of her strongest attributes is her compassion. For example, today she leaves at 4pm on a Work & Witnessing trip to Gautier, MS. She will be working on relief effort related to Hurricane Katrina. She will be gone 4 days.

I am not sure (weeping right now) why God gave me such a gift. I can think of many humorous comments right now, but the bottom line is I am grateful. I pray that someday you get to meet the greatest gift that God gave me next to my salvation! Just like Sydney, our grand daughter, I feel secure when I am wrapped in Mama's arms. I love you mama and will miss you!

How awesome it is to see a man be so bold about his love for his wife. You have such a good heart and Jesus just shines right through you.

I will be praying for you both over the next few days.

Love and Blessings....

Papa, how blessed you and Mama are to have such a loving relationship.

Will you be making your own meals or eating out. Can we expect to see a lot of smoke coming from you kitchen? :)

Indian Lake Papa said...

ED, if you see smoke from the kitchen its me burning paper plates! Its funny you ask, I just was looking at the new KFC ads! They are just up the road!

It's your "friend", IL Papa...remember me? First time I ever met you you gave me a tough time. The first time I ever met Mama...I knew she was special...she would have to be to put up with you! But I'm still your friend...grin.

For those of you who have never met Mama...I just want you to know she is a woman who smiles all the time. I have never seen her when she is not smiling. And she is very sweet and tender. Papa is tough meat...but you can stab him to check for doneness, and you will get splattered with his cynicism. Ya gotta love him, but you want to love Mama!!

Still friends???

Indian Lake Papa said...

Hi Carol! Yep - still friends !! You have mama to a Tee ! She is flawless!!

Carol said...

You need to check out my response to you on my blog posting "Journey to Israel - Post 7". I told the honest-to-God truth about you. Now everyone will truly know who Indian Lake Papa is...what he is really like! Take a peek!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Carol - you can trust me! I'm your friend! Always!

Robin said...

How sweet :) You are a wonderful husband - thanks for sharing your life with us :)

Robin said...

I'd help with your laundry and dishes if I was nearby :)

Carol said...

I gave you some accolades on Heather's blog site comments. Just don't want you to miss anything I might say about you, and I know you need something to do while Mama's gone. Did she go with a church group? This is such a neat thing she is doing!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Robin - I am only about 800 miles due south! If you drove straight thru you could be here by noon tomorrow!

CDC - you are a true friend. I covet your prayers. Mama went with the church group - there will be over 50 people there from other churches. We LOVE our church down here!

CrossView said...

So have you survived the first night? That's usually the hardest one!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Crossview - I survived but had a very restless night. I miss my best friend! :o( !!

Robin said...

I might consider it if I was confident that our vehicle could make it and GAS PRICES weren't so high :)

Brandy said...

awww Papa!! We can sit and chit chat to pass the time. ;-)

Hey, ya wanna come over for dinner?? Jake'll watch a movie with you. ;-) Then you can play cars with the boys. :D

Love you!

Indian Lake Papa said...

GG - No communication w/mama . She left the cell here. She is staying in a gymnasium with 50 others so not much of a secure area to take much. She had to take her own cot & sleeping bag. Gone 1440 minutes!! Oh I miss her - I hope I don't forget her name!

Robin - Faith, you gotta exercise faith!

Tam said...

Ok Papa!!! Whats for dinner!???

Indian Lake Papa said...

THats funny TAm! I had KFC last night, Dominos Pizza today for lunch, left overs tonight!

Mama 's been gone 1515 minutes already! I think I need some Oreo's! :o(

Anonymous said...

Papa, ur so funny! By your other best friend I meant Jesus! Love you and since it's about 5:30 now, you should make sure you have some dinner! Love you!

Indian Lake Papa said...

GG - I sure miss whats her name! 1541 minutes now!

For supper - left over KFC mashed potatoes & gravy - maybe a piece of pizza too!

Tam said...

oh no people!!!! he's eating to numb the pain!!!

what CAN WE do!??

Carol said...

Let's see...could there be any correlation between IL Papa posting how mean Mama is, and her leaving him for a few days? Maybe she needed a break! Feel sorry for you, Friend? I don't think so. Meanwhile, happy munching!

Spent yet another midnight hour at the Bronson emergency room. This time with Al F. That place is getting to be all too familiar!! Too many people visiting there the past few years!! Al should be back home today. Vomiting blood last night turned out to be his high adle hernia (? spelling) was torn by severe vomiting. And did I mentioned, we were in the middle of heavy duty snow storm when we were driving into emergency....very slick, unplowed roads. Today's sun has melted all of it though.

We'll be at Lake Placid, FL next week, checking out the campground down there for our next annual NCA conference next December. Plan to come and visit you then (December), if we are still friends! Trying to accumulate free lodging and meals around the state as we visit snowbirds!

Indian Lake Papa said...

CDC - needed a break??!! I am such a loving obedient husband, why should she need a break??? After all I am such low maintenance!! See ya Next December here in FL!

Tam - I need some Oreo's!! Right now I have "several" Dove Chocolate pieces by my computer!

Tam said...

My Oreos are gone! Or else i'd share some with you ;-)

But DOVE chocolates will work too! Way to go!

How many hours left now? Have you talked to Mama on the phone? If you do, tell her Hi and I love her!

Indian Lake Papa said...

1740 minutes gone only 2880 to go! Piece of cake! I am anxious to see her in her two piece pink loin cloth!

She probably won't call. Limited phone access.

Anonymous said...

I am almost compelled to feel sorry for you....but I know you too well. Howie asked me if you had some friends to help you with food, dishes and laundry. I told him I don't think papa has any friends.

Like Robin, I'd help you out, but with the price of gasoline I can't afford the 5 mile drive.

I hope you are taking good care of your mom-in-law. She's the one I feel sorry for!!!

Janis

Indian Lake Papa said...

Janis - only 4 miles not 5! - loan Howie a skirt - he'd make a nice maid for me! M-I-L is surviving well! Dishes are done - and I did em!

Anonymous said...

Oh, only 4 miles??? Well, maybe I will have to re-think the situation again. I might possibly be able to afford gas for 4 miles.

Janis

Robin said...

Janis - you know I'm really trying to think through each trip I make and whether its necessary or not and if I could combine it with another trip instead to save on gas money.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Don't come in your Jammies - I won't let you in!

Indian Lake Papa said...

The Jammies comment was for Janis! Inside joke - I met her at church in my Jammies one night about 10 pm! She can explain!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Hurry Robin- the laundry is stacking up!

Brandy said...

I am totally cracking up at all these comments!! And I'm jealous of your "real" friends!! :( haha!! I want us all to hang out! *sniff*

I KNOW!! After we move, I'll be in the middle of you and everyone back here (Brent, Tam, Deb) and we can all meet at my place! Deal? Great! OR, they can all come see me and we'll make our way over to you!! YEAHHHHH! :D heehee

Someone needs to win the lottery! haha!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Little one - my "close" friends probably envy you being in Oregon, even N. Dakota!

Darla said...

Brandy- I can't believe you left me out of this party at your house! I am coming anyway, just call me party crasher!!

Papa I am praying for your seperation time to go quickly and for your real life friends to spend the extra $ and come help you out! But you have to play nice ! ;)

Indian Lake Papa said...

Darla - party time at Brandys ! I see it coming!

I have it under control Darla - no real laundry, just call me Kota Jr., I may change my socks for church tomorrow. Paper plates in the trash!

Mama has been gone 2388 minutes now! :o(

Anonymous said...

Ok, I knew it would happen. My sweet, kind, tender, loving, compassionate, humble heart broke down and I am having Howie deliver some lunch to papa before noon. I'll even include a couple of paper plates.

Robin - I figure if you even considered driving 800 miles, I guess I can handle 4 miles. We will be heading north to Ohio in two weeks and then we will be 2 1/2hours from papa....still way too close.

Janis

Oh, in case anyone cares about papa's rambling..... regarding the jammies. I was having computer problems and called papa for help about 10 p.m. He hadn't been at our Florida home before so I met him at the church (which is between us) and led the way back to my place. I wasn't expecting him to be wearing his jammies. He had them on under his "real" clothes and now he has to make a big deal about meeting me in his Jammies. Mama just smiles as always, and my hubby, Howie, just goes along with whatever papa says. Right now, 2 1/2 hours distance from papa sounds real good! And just for the record, I had had my jammies on too, but I was smart enough to get dressed before I left the house!!!!

Janis

Indian Lake Papa said...

I concur w/Janis' version! When we all return to the north Howie & her live in Ohio - 2.5 hours away.

Mama comes home tomorrow! Hooray!

Anonymous said...

Ok everyone, rest easy. Papa is not going to waste away to nothing. I have lunch ready to take to him. Smoked sausage, potato salad and Chocolate pie!!!!! The poor baby is taken care of for the moment.

Janis

P. S. I forget.... how much arsenic does it take???

Indian Lake Papa said...

I'm allergic to sausage, Potato salad has stunted my growth, and chocolate pie makes me break out in fat - but - bring it on!

Arsenic has no affect on me - mama has tried it for years!

2579 minutes down w/out mama

Good Morning PAPA!!!! Ok, how many minutes do you have left? What are having for dinner? What are your plans for the day? LOve you!!!

:)De said...

This is one of the most interesting section of comments I have ever read... almost more entertaining than the blog post.
:)De

Indian Lake Papa said...

DEb - 1909 minutes left & counting! She should be "home" by 7PM tomorrow! Howie & Janis, friends, just bought us lunch here! See Janis' comments. Now I am full!

I have to go to the church this afternoon and set up tables and make arrangements for our annual elections tomorrow. Busy wonderful day tomorrow!

Indian Lake Papa said...

:)De - Thanks for stopping by - you may regret it! Some of my commentors need refining - can you teach them in home schooling??

Mama comes home in 1665 minutes!

Robin said...

Janis,

I was joking about traveling 800 miles, but if I was close by I would so do it.

Where are you traveling to in Ohio? My family lives there. I went to MVNU - loved it!

Have a great day!

Anonymous said...

Papa - you mean you are still breathing??? I knew I should have poured in the whole bottle.

Robin - MVNC is on our Church district. We live in North Western Ohio...(now no snickers from anyone because I'm touchy about people making comments about my town...I was born, raised and still live in Hicksville.) I've been to the beautiful college campus and a niece of ours graduated from there several years ago.

Janis

Anonymous said...

Robin - I guess I shouldn't say MVNU is on our district. I should say our district supports MVNU.

No word from papa for an hour and a half....maybe the arsenic is working!

In his next to last post, Papa said he had to go set up tables for the elections at church tomorrow. He has a bad memory because Howie helped him set them up Wed. night.... at least that was their story to me!!!! Hmmmmmm!

Janis

Indian Lake Papa said...

Still have to work on those tables, need to put stuff on them, such as ballot boxes and admin supplies. The arsenic made me sleep well at nap time.

Janis - tell Howie we (M-I-L & I) we appreciate the lunch you both brought over. Robin was going to, but was afraid it might get cold by the time she got here. I am saving the laundry for her.

mama home in 1612 minutes and 32 seconds! Yipee!

Anonymous said...

Well, get over to the church and get your work done papa. The more you move around the longer it takes for the arsenic to work. I'd come and help you, but I am exhausted from all the cooking I had to do for you. If you need help I can send Howie!!!! Do you need help???? Well, I know you need all the help you can get, but I mean to set up for the elections.

I am guessing mama types your blogs for you since you havn't written anything new since she left....mmmmm

How are you doin' Papa? saying a prayer for you...did you feel that?

Indian Lake Papa said...

Papa types his own blogs! :o) Darla - give me a topic about Mama and I - a question - and I will post on it. Okay? That scares me a little!

1500 minutes 28 seconds to go until mama comes home!

Darla said...
