Why Blog?

I was "tagged" by Brandy - and was asked to come up with a six word memoir. Here is mine, from my heart.

"A SMALL MAN A LARGE FAMILY"

mama and I consider all of you under the age of 50 (Tam, I'm not sure where you fit in here) to be our children. Those over 50 are part of our "extended family". That includes Ed, I guess he is my brother - we are so close (??) in age we may be twins - not sure!

Mama and I pray each day for you all. We really do - we see this blog as lots of fun - but for us it really is a ministry. We have been blessed beyond what we expected from God and believe our life experiences as we share them may be a blessing to our blog family. That is why we blog. Some of you we have watched go through difficult times recently. I think of Brandy ("Little One") who recently had to move half way across the USA with her - family! That is traumatic! We prayed hard for her family! We pray for you all!

God Bless!
Mama and Papa

hmmm.... looks like Im 13 years away from graduating to becoming your little sister then. YAY!!!

Papa, I KNOW you have prayed for our family. We have reaped the blessings of your prayers!

You and Mama are priceless to us all and are often a part of conversations. We love you so very much!

God obviously is in control of everything under the Sun and can use anything He wants as He pleases. He has clearly used blogging to bring together His children to sharpen one another and fellowship - I pray we have blessed Him as much as He has blessed us!

Tam - I shouldn't pick on you so much - but I love you like a daughter and I love to see you giving life to so many people! Your words are very kind - love you! I talked to a "girl" today who was in my graduating H.S. class - we are thinking about our 50th H.S. Reunion already! OH MY !!

Papa - i give you permission to pick on me as often as you like. It's that Mandy Girl that bugs me!!!

Your friendship and prayers are so appreciated. I really do feel like we are family even though we've never met. I think our tie with Jake and Jessica helped make it happen even quicker! I appreciate you both and enjoy sharing our lives!

Robin - You are family! I pray for as if you were my daughter!

God has truly blessed us with you and mama! I love knowing how you pray for us, and honestly there is no greater gift you could give me.

I find blogging to be a ministry too, and I am always shocked at how HE can use anything I will give HIM and make it huge!! although I know HE is capable of anything, I do like to see HIM show off!
Love you Papa and Mama!

Kelly! Kelly! You may not believe this but The Traverse City area is my
"home" area!! I was born in Manistee, lived near Northport for a few years then went to school mostly in the big burg of Buckley! I am coming up there Memorial Day weekend!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Hi Sis! (Keetha)!! I am assuming you are my younger sister! Ha! I am almost as "old as dirt" - I see you use that phrase as well!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Darla - You are a special child of God and a special child of mama and I. I am not trying to be sac-religious - we just love you. I guess that makes Ed your uncle and Keetha your aunt - They are too old to be my kids! ha! Keetha is a new blog friend on my roll!

Well, my comment is about your 6 word description. I don't agree with it. I think you are a large man with a large family. Take the word 'large' as you will.

papa! Wow! I live in Frankfort! and yes, you found my page:) and yes, I would believe just about anything right now, God is just doing some crazy things in my life! I ran away to Traverse City as a teenager, got pregnant, moved to Buckley in 94 a couple of years later...and the big Berg of Buckley is where I first met my Jesus!! Right in my living room:) I lived in TC until 1997, when I was married and moved to Frankfort, my husbands home town and my new mission field. Where are you coming Memorial Day weekend?? It would be so fun to meet you! Though, we will be moving the week after that, because our lease is up here, so it may be a crazy weekend for us. Though....you can come and visit our church! A bit different flavor from your Nazarene church, but my husband and I are scheduled to preach that Sunday:) ...though...really different flavor;) might be a bit more spice than you care for LOL!
Oh...and say a prayer for us? okay, skip saying a prayer, intercede! we need a home for us and our 5 kids, in Frankfort. Our lease is up June 22nd, but our landlords just called and want to know if we could possibly move by the 9th, since this is a summer vacation home and they would rather get it ready without having to work around us. As we would rather also. God supernaturally led us to this house in September when we needed it, so I know He will do it again. Thanks papa!

Kelly - We will be up to Buckley at least Saturday and Sunday, possibly Monday. Our schedule is flexible - Saturday eve we have the alomni banquet - church at Buckley (maybe Frankfort!) Do you have an email address? I would delete it once received - I get notified quickly when comments come in. What about IM or iChat? Mama and I would love to connect!
