Expectations??

Well mama and papa are back - no place like home. I have been thinking all week about my last post - the three different boats. The choices you made were interesting. I was thinking about my first boat I had. It was a speed boat with a 50 hp engine - I thought it was the best! I was very contented! It served my purpose. It met my expectations.

But - I have since rode in Robb's high performance boat (see last post) - no comparison, I never ever thought I would ride in a boat like that!

How much power do you want in your spiritual life?? What are your expectations? Are you aware that there may be more power out there for you? or are you content with where you are at? Robb's boat probably has a gas tank of over a 100 gallons - it would cost close to 500 bucks to fill it today with premium fuel - thats a high cost. To power up those two high performance V8's in Robb's boat it costs! You don't get spiritual power without cost as well. We need to put everything we can into our spiritual lives. Prayer and scripture times are important - but don't neglect service for Christ as well. Lets power up people !! Yea !!! Don't get too content!!

Welcome back home, Mama and Papa. You missed a good concert at the campfire last night (well, maybe Mama got in on some of it). That was so cool! I wish we would have a sing-along of the oldies like that maybe once a week, with finger foods and great fellowship! I would guesstimate that about 50 people stopped by at least for a while.

Anybody looking for a get away for the 4th of July need to make ILNC their place to go! We are having two full days of activities (see web site at www.nazcamp.org) including an open air concert on the ballfield with various groups. And I'll bet Papa would take you for a ride in the boat of your chioce! Call 269-649-2281 for reservations (motels may be full, but we do have rustic cabins!).

Heather - we had a wonderful time! We enjoyed the remote country of northern Michigan. Yet had a very nice modern cabin.

I think your analogy is wonderful. We must sacrifice to draw closer. I love reading your blog and I think this is my first time commenting. You guys seem to have the neatest time and I love it that you guys love the Lord so much. Life is so good thanks to the One who gave it to us!

Darla - Isn't it exciting in your spiritual life when you have total confidence in your Savior's guidance? When we learn to totally trust him and are obedient - those expectations and concerns are minimal! Oh how I love him! Glad you are having a great trip!

Welcome home Papa. Hmmmmm. I always want more power and I have great expectations. . .but the flip side of this is that I need to remember that God is in control. God has shown me that no matter how sure I am of something, it has to be in His Will or it just doesn't satisfy. Whatever the cost, I want to be closer to God, in His Will, in His service.

Great Post.

Hi LA ! It is good to be home! Hope all is well with you! If we give Christ total control He will guide us. i sometimes like to lead the way - maybe that's why He put a short leash on me! lol
