Please come pray with us!

Recently Tam posted a topic on prayer. Prayer is one of the things that God has given to us as bloggers we can share in. Tam requested that we provide her with a list of our requests - I hope that you did that. I did, as I value Tam and Brent's prayers as much as I need you to pray for mama and I.

Several of you have given mama and I some very special and urgent prayer requests. I want you to know we take those very seriously.

Here on the church camp where we live they have a prayer cottage that is open 24/7. It is a short couple of blocks from our home to the cottage. Papa tries to be there praying and have my devotions there each morning. On Thursday mornings mama has established a ladies prayer group that meets there at 10am.

I pray that you are making time each day to have a prayer time. We can get so busy that we sometimes forget our Heavenly Father would like to spend some time with us.

Today as I went to the Prayer Cottage, one of the retired pastors that lives here was working on a construction project in the prayer cottage. He is building a prayer Closet! It will not be much larger than a closet, but will actually have an altar in the closet where you can kneel and pray in true privacy. By the way, remember him in prayer, he lost his mate a few short months ago.

Mama and I are hoping some day that all of you can stop by and that we can pray together!

This is Mama

We have just started the ladies prayer time and we have had a total of 7 ladies so far. What a blessing to pray together. I know I need this time with other ladies praying together.

May you enjoy talking with our LORD today and every day.

God bless you Mam

I have been going over several of the prayer requests from yesterday and my heart is still breaking and heavy for so many. Praying is truly the biggest thing we can do. it is the most beautiful expression of love that i know.

i love you papa and mama. so very much!

and mama, you've been commenting more - maybe you should have your own MamaBlog???? ;-)

Tam - Mama says "No No!" She sees this as "Papa's ministry" and will comment at times. She would not feel "comfortable" as a blogger. I will try to get her commenting as much as I can.

AS I read the list of prayer requests on your prayer post - I had to fight back very heavy emotions. I wish God was a blogger and would comment on your post that "All is well ..." We are all so blessed.

James 5:16.....the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
-God

How's that for an "All is well" Papa?!

Praying with you, for you, and all is well here BECAUSE of your prayers:)

Love you both!

We have visited papa's campground twice and it is neat. We drove by the prayer chapel and I wish I would have gone in and spent some time with the Lord there. It just has to be Holy ground.

I will be at our church campground (in Ohio) next week for two days for meetings, but I don't live there. I have to drive 60 miles!! We have summer cottages there, but no big homes for year round living. When you go on the grounds though, you can feel the Spirit and a sense of peace there! What a blessing that God is not limited to one place but can be anywhere.

I hope that ladies prayer group continues to grow, Mama! God is so good!!

Kelly - fervent prayer is the way to pray!

Janis - papa has trouble at the prayer cottage - it does seem like special hallow ground - I cry more than I pray I think!

Robin - i will be praying for your brother.

Tam - I am blessed to have mama - I know, I say that a lot. But this blog site would not be what we are attempting to do without mama! We had a very special day today - if I can get copies of some pictures I will do a post soon.

How cool is a prayer cottage and prayer closet??!!! When I really need privacy to pray I end up in the bathroom. . .someone is always at home in my house. I'm not complaining, I love that my family is around so much, it just makes it hard to find a time and place for private, quiet prayer time. I think God is so pleased when we call on Him on behalf of others. Papa, what are your needs today? My heart hurts for the pain my brother is in, please lift him up to the Lord. Thanks.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Life Adapted - What are papa's "needs"? Thank you for asking - that means a lot.

1) I would like healing of my tremor condition and/or a better attitude to cope with them.
2) I said harsh words to a friend that I value very much and need to correct - I am working on this.
3) Physical strength - the tremors sap your energy.
Again, thanks for asking LA

I absolutely love the idea of the prayer cottage and prayer closet!

We do tend to forget the importance of prayer... One of my constant refrains to my kids is that prayer is the least, and most, we can do. It's so easy to think we need to be doing something other than that when it's always the first and foremost thing we should be doing!

I agree Crossview - good point. It is an easy think to do, so easy, I find my self putting it off till later. Which reminds me ......

Hey Papa, Thanks for this posting. It's good to have a jog once in a while to move me to more meaningful prayer. I think I'll call it a blog-jog.

Life Adapted said...

Papa, I have just lifted up your needs to our Heavenly Father. You are a good man and I know the Lord is pleased with you. I will continue to pray for your healing, in all situations. Be blessed today.

Hi Daizy! Blog-Jog - that is good! Any time you need one of those - I can do it! ha! I love the prayer cottage - it is a great location for getting alone with God.

LA - appreciate your prayers. Request #2 is already taken care of - God is so good when we are faithful to his leading.

Some friends and I just met for prayer yesterday. There is nothing like praying together with other believers. It is one of my favorite things in the world.

I have seen your comments on Robins blog, but I guess I haven't checked here before. Your life sound interesting - living at a camp would be great and the horse rescue sounds very interesting. I love horses.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Hi Kay! Thanks for stopping by! I love horses - I just came back from seeing my horse - couldn't ride - too stormy - was pouring down rain! Prayer life is so important - and we can do it anywheres!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I do most of my blogging at loopdeloops in la la land, though. My friend and I share the book blog and we don't post often there.

Hi Kay - thanks for stopping by again - hope to see you regularly - Thanks for clarifying the blog sites!

Hi mama and papa! I am so blessed today after seeing this post. I've not been reading my bloggy friends as much now that summer has hit and my son's out of school...so I'm trying to catch up today. You're both so wonderful for offering yourselves this way, through prayer. I will pray for the man who lost his wife tonight. I am thankful for people like you, who make a difference in this world. May God bless you today.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Kim - Bear with me! But when I read your comment about the man who lost his wife - I giggled! :o) He is in his 80's and just announced his engagement to a widow lady yesterday! They are acting like high school sweethearts - it is so cute! He sold her his truck a few months ago - long story, but he wants to marry her he said because he misses his truck! LOL God is so good!
