This place is too noisy - think I will move!

I feel like griping today! This place is too noisy - church camps. Everybody knows my business - I need a quiet place to live!

I just got done with a brief devotion period and read the following - summarized. A farmer was walking around his farm complaining of all the work; a large pond to stock and maintain, cattle to take care of and just too much to do. He decided to sell and turned it over to a realty. Time went by and the realtor called to okay the ad for the farm. The ad read something like this; "A lovely farm for sale in an ideal location - quiet and peaceful, contoured with rolling hills, carpeted with soft meadows, nourished by a fresh lake, and blessed with well-bred livestock." After hearing the ad the farmer said;"cancel the ad, I have changed my mind - I have been looking for a place like that all my life."

On second thought, maybe my life's circumstances are pretty good after all - children finding Christ here - maybe even today. Neighbors that I can trust and would come to my aid in a minute. Yep, I have been looking for a place just like I have.

Sorry Jesus for complaining today, you have really blessed mama and I.

(The devotion I read today was "grace for the Moment - Volume II" by Max Lucado)

Reminds me of "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence". Maybe, maybe not!!!

LOL!
I choose to focus on my blessings- they are many.
The discontent is always temporary;
unless I feed it, of course. =P

I wandered over from Crossview mostly because I always enjoy your comments on her posts (which I also love -- because she is just super).

I'm only a few posts into your blog and I know that I have been missing out.

Blessings!

Janis - The reason the grass is greener on the other side is it has more poop - fertilizer.

crossview - Keep focused girl, keep focused!

razor/Lacy - welcome! I will check out your blog site later today!

Hi Russ! thanks for stopping by! Those glasses were legit - made by Smith & Wesson! I use to be a safety officer - OSHA certified!

papa! i love this!

yes! its about perspective. its much easier to look at people and the things around us and point out the bad. even if there are bad things in them. so what? the real test, is looking for the good. choosing to see the beauty and not thinking we are above doing so.

When I first moved from my apartment in the city to my condo in what is a pretty quiet complex I had trouble sleeping because it was "too" quiet.

At your church camp, when you are surrounded by the laughter of children playing it must be a lot of fun. If it's the noise of kids fighting or crying, not so much.

A community where neighbors respect and help each other is great place to live. I must admit however I am a city boy. I love the noise, and even the smells, of the city. I wouldn't mind a vacation in the country, but I prefer the hustle and bustle of city life.

A good PR man can make any home sound like a castle. I am not sure he can help you much if you meet St. Peter at the gates to heaven. :)

Tam - I really try to dig out the good. Tam - Today was a good example - I pulled into a parking spot that had both spots empty next to me. Makes getting in and out easier. Before I could get out a lady in a big 4x4 pulled up close to my drivers side and got out. We had a great laugh, chit chatted all the way across the lot. i was all over her - joking. when we parted we were talking about what a beautiful day God had made.

Ed- I hope when I meet St. Peter at the gate my PR person had better be mama! I don't want to go without mama! I have lived in big city (Detroit suburbs) and country. I love country the best - Amos needs space!

Where's the noise? Am I missing something here on the camp grounds? Now, if you are talking about all the tree cutting going on, and grinding of leaves and branches...twill soon be past. If you're talking about the Executive Director sneezing...now that's loud and noisy!! Make a citizen's arrest!

Scott - got your address and sent you directions.

carol - noise!! its that lady with the two dogs early in the morning! The dogs probably make the director sneeze!

I love that you are familiar with GRIT! I should have a new post up today on GRIT.com although I am not sure when. It will be everything you ever wanted to know about soap and also how to make your own liquid laundry detergent. Or at least that's what it was when I submitted it to the editor! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. I think it is wonderful that your wife worked for GRIT, too.

Blessings!

Great devotion! We all need to think of things we are thankful for instead of worrying about the things we wish we had. God is supplying our needs and giving us opportunities to glorify HIM what more could we possibly want???

Robin - our greatest blessings are probably the ones we take for granted the most!
