Prayer Request !!

Some times life throws us curves we didn't expect. Jesus sometimes takes us down a new path that doesn't seem as nice as the path we would like to choose. Friends of ours just became first time grandparents - their married child just had their first child born early and the child is Down's Syndrome. This child is God's child as well and please pray that all will adjust to this unexpected new path that Christ has taken them down. He truely loves us. Please pray with these families with mama and papa.

Some of my favorite memories from working in Special Education are of Down's Syndrome children. The most beautiful eyes and sweetest natures...

Anyway, praying here for the family that they will be able to receive all the love their new blessing brings!

No worries, ILP, they will be amazed at how blessed they are! God must have decided this is a special family worthy of His precious one.

Crossview - if you ever get to my home in Michigan< I have some photos & stories of a wonderful young man who has blessed my path and is Down's Syndrome. I was blessed to be his Sunday School teacher in a young adult class.

I am praying God will shine in this child and this family so brightly that all will see Him plainly and clearly.

One of the best things I have ever heard is:

'Our plan B was always God's plan A'

I will pray for this family and praise God because I know He will give them everything they need to take care of the gift He has given them:)

Heather - thank you for your words. God's plan for our lives is something we should seek.

Praying for this family! I like what crossview said! I'm just thinking of some of the words I've heard from Sarah Palin on her baby. Praying this family finds the blessing in their child and the support and encouragement they need!

I too just posted a special prayer request for a friend of a friend. It's a dire situation, but God can intervene.

Robin - God hears and answers prayer - I like his wrapping his arms around us when we need him. Will be praying for your request as well.

I will be praying for your friends. I pray this child will be healthy and strong. God can use the baby and all of this situation for good. We don't know His reasons, but we know Him and He will take care of us.

Thanks darla - your prayers are coveted!

Roxx - having others pray when we go through major life changes is areal help.

Nana - one of my most memorable relationships was with a Down syndrome young man.

I am praying, Papa. I have a nephew with multiple disabilities. We were struck dumb at first...now we all know the joy of such a precious child.

We can praise the Lord for His ways will bring Him glory. :)

They are in my prayers. As a unified partner with Special Olympics Georgia -- I work with many individuals born with D.S. and they are the most loving and amazing people!

Blessings!

Definitely praying. This can be so hard to deal with - especially if it is a surprise at birth.

A good friend of mine has a Down Syndrome boy who is 6 months older than my son. If you need resources - books, web sites, associations, etc. let me know.

It's not a bad life but it is a different life--one best lied within the context of God's grace.

My aunt has six children. The youngest has Down's Syndrome.
They are all over 30 now. Peter is 32.

All her other children have moved away and don't keep in contact with her much anymore.

Peter helped her get past the death of her husband. Peter is always there with unconditional love.

I think Peter has done more for my aunt than any of her other children.

Papa, I am praying in agreement with you and Mama that all will adjust to this path that God has put them on. I pray the families will be abundantly blessed - blessed beyond measure - with this child.

Linda - thank you for the prayers.

Michelle - thank you also for the prayers. God has special people in our lives for a reason - I know.

Lacy - those are encouraging words - God gives us all special abilities.

Char - A D.S. young man, now near 50, has made a tremendous impact on my life. He has quite a special Christian testimony.

Ed - WOW ! That tells quite a story . The one I mentioned above is a first born woth several younger brothers. Dad is an corporate executive and his D.S. son is his best buddy. They are a couple of funny guys when they harass each other!! For example, the D.S. son is elgible for food stamps! Dad takes him shopping !! Mom has a fit!! lol

LA - guess what?? your path and mine may change a few times as well before we meet Christ at the end! Thank you for the prayers.

As most here have said already (i loved Ed's comment) :-) when it comes to being able to know, show and give true Love, few of us supposedly 'able- minded individuals' come anywhere close to that offered and owed to such children of God.

As i would see it, the best of prayers has already been answered for your family Papa. :-)

love.

Love - Ed sure did get to the heart of this issue - love. A simple answer that we complicate with our own personal desires.
