My Favorite Son - My ONLY Son!

You probably have figured it out by now - we have two children, a son and a daughter. This post is about my son. He is single and has a passion for the outdoors. He has been ranked nationally (#1 much of the time) in his age bracket for snowboarding - Border Cross - the last two years. Did I mention he is single ?? He also wakeboards in the summer behind Precious II. He loves to fix up old motorcycles as well. Oh yes, he is single - I think I mentioned that.
He is a professional computer geek - is that a good word? He helps with programming and security system designs. In case you haven't figured it out - mama and papa love our son. Have I mentioned - aw forget it, I am sure I have.

This is Mama
Our son is our first born. We looked forward to having children and when we found out he was on his way after waiting years, we were SO excited.
What a baby with lots of hair and CUTE. We thanked God for His gift to us. At the time our son was born, Papa and I were foster parents to six teenage boys. I still thank God for this son plus our daughter, son in law, grandson, granddaughter, and our coming granddaughter from China who is being hand picked by God too.

Wow! Awesome! I am taken, Papa. :) He sounds a bit like my (also single) brother. He is in the Coast Guard now. #1, huh? I'm sure that makes you pleased as punch!

Papa, at least your son is flying through the air on snow, not concrete.

Sounds like a very talented young man, does he take after Mama? :)

Did he inherit his snowboarding skills from you? :)

ED - mama cracked up! LOL She says "neither" !! Although I admit I am an air-head at times! He is a great son, Ed, he is good in summer and winter sports. He even played hockey as a boy in Lake Placid,NY when we lived there.

Janis - he gets it from my kind, sweet, gentle spirit - plus some of my humility.

He sounds like a wonderful interesting son! See I learn more and more about you guys all the time. I think that's neat. A son and a daughter. I just have a daughter but I guess that's the way the Lord wanted it for me. How old are these children? is that too personal? if so, you don't need to answer, of course. :)

By the way, folks, Papa's one and only son is also very good looking. He definitely did not get that from Papa!! (Are we still friends?...grin).

Hi Nana - my son is 39 and my daughter is 37 - both pushing 40! That is scary for me - I still feel like I am 25! I probably act it too!

Robin - we have terrific children who we love dearly - I want my children to always know that Dad loves them very much.

Sara - I guess i forgot to mention, he is single. Interested? Do you have money?? your in-laws would be wonderful!

Carol - he is good looking - just like I was at his age - that should concern him about his future! LOL

CrossView said...

He sounds wonderful. Except for that now thing. That's scary! *BRRRRR*

=P

Crossview - I think you meant that "snow" thing! LOL

Char said...

Sounds like a terrific guy all around.

LOL, papa! Hehehehehhee...

I wonder why you kept 'forgetting' to mention that one crucial fact.

Hehehehehe.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Char - did I mention he was single ?

Brainteaser - I love grand kids - that's the real secret!

Carol said...

Yeah, Papa, I do see the resemblance. May he have your same sense of humor also!

Crossview - tomorrow it will be low 60's! Not bad - haven't seen snow - yet!

Carol - yea, he has his dad's humor - and he is a great kid - dad loves his boy.

Roxx - do you ever slow down ?? LOL I have a great son - very talented - must get that from mama.

Your love for your children is wonderful to hear. It seems so many dads don't know how to say what they feel.

Great job, Papa!

My daughter is a bit young...sorry.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Michelle - are you sure she is too young ?? We can stretch the age limit some can't we? If she is real young maybe we could adopt her somehow.

Kimberly McKay said...

Mama you're so sweet. I know your son is so blessed to have you as an example in what to look for in a wife. He sounds amazing. I wish I knew some single ladies. All my buddies, including me, are happily married. BUT God has the right woman for him, at the right timing too!

funny. i had NO idea he was single! weird. wait. now that i think about it, wasn't he on a "list" of some sort?

;-)

Indian Lake Papa said...

Tam - list, what list? LOL Yep, still single!

Kim - mama is the best mama! She is a great mom! I admit she likes that grandma role quite well =

Papa you are too funny to me. It reminded me of the ads back home that parents put out in the newspaper to find their sons/daughters spouses hehe ;)

Bad, the livestock comment CRACKED me up! Especially since dowry, incl livestock, is pretty common back in Pakistan.

Love you Papa!

Indian Lake Papa said...

GCh - he is a great son - maybe I should run an ad - can the father of the prospective groom ask for a dowry? heh heh!

CrossView said...

But isn't that ssssssnow in the picture??!! =P
THat's what made me shiver!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Crossview - snow ? Where ?? Don't you have a single daughter ?? What's 20 years - close enough --- you have "livestock" we could workout a dowry.

CrossView said...

ROFL!
But is your son single??!!
=P

Indian Lake Papa said...

Crossview - did I fail to mention he was single? - my error! We would consider accepting Chickens, Turkeys and even a Horse as part of your dowry plans.

Indian Lake Papa said...

Crossview -I wanted to mention that the dowry would have to be of great value - primarily because of the great in-laws that would come with the groom!

CrossView said...

ROFL! So you'll be paying US??!! =P

I like my critters. 'Specially the horse! But how about lots of fresh fertilizer, instead??!!

Indian Lake Papa said...

Crossview - oh no - you have to pay the dowry - I can come cheap, but mama is one of a kind and would be expensive. Your not the first one that wants to give papa fresh fertilizer! LOL
