Mama's Prayer Group

Mama has a prayer group that meets each Thursday at 10AM at the prayer cottage here on the campgrounds. The ladies bring their prayer requests and then for the next hour thy all join in prayer. Yesterday a lady mentioned the following prayer request. A young married man needs a heart and kidney transplant, has been in the hospital for 6 months waiting. His 8 year old son looked at his father the other day and asked this question: "Daddy, does this mean somebody has to die to give you their heart?! I don't want someone else to have to die!"

What do you say to a child who is trying to sort through life - who wants his dad to live? What do we say to a God who gave His Son to die on a cross - for our sins? I am overwhelmed at God's love for me that He would do that.

The boy in the picture is cleaning up the cake batter bowl. He obviously does not want to miss any. In fact he is getting as close to that bowl and batter as he can. He is not holding back - God did not hold back - He gave his only begotten Son - for you. He wants all of you so you can have life - Are you holding back anything - let His love get in you and all over you - right now!

This is Mama
There are so many hurting people out there. I want to be open to HIS leading.
One thought that just came to me is that sometimes we who know God are willing to "lick the bowl" when God has the whole cake for us if only we would reach out and trust HIM.
Are you, am I open to Him? Are we desiring to know HIM better?
I want to wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. I have so very much to be thankful for.
MAMA

Sadly, that's a very perceptive 8-yr old... And that has got to be tough for anyone to deal with. =(

Papa, my brother is a 2 time kidney transplant receipient. The first one was from a young man at the prime of his life getting ready to go to college on a football scholarship. He died of a brain injury and my brother received the gift of his kidney. It took his mother 5 years to respond to a letter I wrote her thanking her for saving my brother's life. I don't think we'll ever understand God's ways, which are so much higher than ours. I will pray for this family believing God will do a great work in them. Be blessed

Robin - we all need to be available to be God's servants. We just got home, the day went well - much prayer today.

LA - God has a way of providing even if we don't understand.

Rachel - God will help even the children understand. In fact sometimes we as adults could use the wisdom of a child.

What a precious child and how sad that he has to go through the emotions he must have right now, about his own dad's mortality. It gives the word blessed a whole new realm for me. :( I'm sad for that family, and will be praying for them tonight.
