Whats wrong with this picture ???

This is my son - on his 1970's Yamaha Enduro that he is restoring - a collector's item. This video clip was taken today - 11/27/08. A few weeks ago this bike would not even run - he has really stripped it down and began to restore it - he got it for less than what he paid for the license plate! When he got it - it was headed for the scrap heap - now it's on its way becoming a collector's item. He knew it had value and could be functional again.

Now, what's wrong with this picture is that white stuff in the background! When he pulled into the driveway to his sisters house this morning the temp was about 25 !! When he left, it had warmed up to about 32! He drove this thing about 12 miles each way !! Fortunately the roads were free of snow and ice!

Now - when Jesus pulled you and I off the scrap heap we had found ourselves on, He began a restoration process that is unbelievable. My dirty old heart sure needed cleaning up, my mind was in a bad state as well. I have seen parts taken off this bike, put into a cleaning solution, soaked (some for several days!) and come out just like new - amazing! Have you got any parts that you need to give to the Master Restorer to clean up - He does an excellent job.

"Lord, please clean me up - I want a total restoration, but is it too much to ask to use me when the weather is nice? What??!! You want to be able to use me at any time ???!! Oh my !! I need to pray some more!"

NOTE: PAPA WILL NOW BE OFF LINE UNTIL TUESDAY DECEMBER 2ND .

DArla - when I heard that he had rode the motorcycle to the house - I could not believe it! The weather was not favorable for bikes! LOL Sometimes I prefer to be a fair weather Christian - make my day smooth Dear Lord! He really has gotten on my case --- I am doing better!

Snow - we don't have any yet - hasn't been cold enough. My family in Ohio has had quite a bit though.

Great application with the bike and our restoration!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Drive Safely on your way south where you won't be seeing any snow (short of a miracle).

He keeps taking parts off and soaking them in some kind of acidic stuff that's making me really burn! I know it's for my good, but man, I'm ready for a break. I know, He knows what He is doing, so I'll trust.

To use me in all weather??? Only trusting in His sovereignty can I handle such a thought!

Papa,

I completely agree with your comment following up to my (our) recent Bible study assignment, and see why it was so important to study. Thank you again!

Robin - just a couple of days - then no snow. How are you doing?? Uncomfortable I am sure !!

Roxx - I am thinking of a new assignment for you. Will let you know. I am thinking of the 'scariest' (to me) story in the bible. Will let you know.

Michelle - it amazes me at how my Savior works with me - even in my old age ( LOL ) he keeps working on me - when I think I am losing value, he finds new tasks for me. Let Him use you today!!

Yes, eight days and counting and yes again uncomfortable would describe how I'm feeling now. But how many times do we get to assist God in a miracle?

Indian Lake Papa said...

Robin - by the time we get to Florida James Jr. may have a beard! Take good care of that miracle!

Papa, it's been quite a while since stopping by your excellent blog; busy is an understatement.

What you said about the Lord being a restorer is absolutely true. What others throw away, God is able to not only clean up, but actually make better than new. Our God is so awesome.

BTW, I haven't seen the first drop of snow here in Central Florida. There are times I miss seeing that white fluffy stuff, then other times...

Indian Lake Papa said...

Pastor Ron - we will be in the central Florida area soon - next Tuesday! No more snow this winter then!

Wow! Great thoughts, Papa! Thanks for sharing. :-)

Brainteaser - any snow where you are at ?? LOL

Robin said...

Papa - I certainly hope not especially if James Jr. turns out to be Jane :)

Oh we did come to agreement on both first and middle names for both a boy or a girl.

Seven days until my due date...but I don't feel like its anytime soon...so it's going to be a surprise all around.

Papa: This is a good post. And good thoughts on restoration...
I drove a motorcycle once. And it didn't have breaks, so I had to slow it by down-shifting, then using my feet. Scary, huh? Maybe your son could've fixed it! :)

I miss snow! What a great video -- how often have I skidded out of a driveway?? Never in Georgia but MANY times while living in Washington!

Blessings!
