Back to work!

Today was a great day! Mama and I went back to work - as volunteers. We will do this each Friday morning. We have the same opportunity we had last year, assisting ladies and gentlemen that are needing employment look for jobs. We provide transportation and encouragement as we take them to various places looking for employment. Today we took two ladies and one gentleman. The place we volunteer at is THE PATH, you can also link to their site from my blog. Pray for these individuals that they will find work and God's will for their life.

We asked about a couple of gentlemen that we helped last spring and were wondering how they had done. Both are employed now and are out on their own! Praise the Lord! Put us on your prayer calendar each Friday.

Michelle - Mama and I are grateful that God can use us. We pray each day that we will be used by Him in the way He sees best. We love HIm.

Tam - I admit I was surprised that the ones we asked about were doing well - They had many hurdles to overcome. I asked God to forgive me for my lack of faith.

Darla - God not only hears our prayers but HE even answers as well.

How marvelous, how wonderful. You truly are the hands and feet of Jesus...or the wheels. God bless you and I have you on my prayer calendar...EVERY day. May our precious Lord and Savior continue to richly bless you as you bless others. Theresa

Devoted - today, Sunday, will be special as the ones we took job hunting will be attending our church as well. So keep them in prayer as well. WE appreciate your prayers.

This sounds like a wonderful ministry. I pray the Lord will give you and Mama just the right words and prayers for the folks looking for work. I hope you guys are having a great time and are having great weather. You were such a blessing to me and I know you both will be a huge blessing to so many others.

I know you are both making a difference where ever you are whether Florida or Michigan or anywhere in between.

"James Jr." (haha) says hello. I'm so crazy about my new daughter. I took her to her first church service today, but it wasn't her first time to church. On our way home from the hospital we stopped at the church and introduced her to our Pastor and his wife. I walked her into the sanctuary and introduced her to our church home. Have I told you I'm in love :)

Nana - weather in the upper 70's low 80's all week - no rain. Yeah, I can handle that!

Robin - we are busy - but last night at church we had several sit with us that we spent Friday with - a great day.

It is great to hear that that the guys you helped last year found work. I fear 2009 is going to be a very bad year for finding, and keeping, a job.

I can't think of a more rewarding experience than helping people. I spend about four hours a week helping out at a shelter. It makes me grateful for what I have.

Hi ED - I think mama and I are the ones that get blessed when we help out. Getting to know these people is a blessing. ARe you coming to Florida this winter?

Papa, I doubt I will be leaving Connecticut this winter. Budget is very tight and I don't think it will get any better in 2009.

Food on the table and a roof over my head. anything else will be a plus. I feel lucky to have that.

Ed - well you keep warm this winter. WE plan to look you up this next fall. We should be in your area the last part of September or early October.
