Best Friends!

Who is your best friend - earthly friend? Mine is that pretty little girl in the middle of the front row with the long coat on. The picture was probably taken around 1950. Yep, she is now an old friend. But did you know that God had picked us for each other even before that picture was taken ?? I could have picked a different "best friend" but glad I didn't. I am thankful I followed His direction for my life.

The unusual part of our story is that we never met each other until we were in our early 20's! We actually wrote over 300 letters to each other before we met!

Curious, what's something special about your best friend?

This is Mama
One of the first things I noticed about Papa was his respectfulness of other people. Also he was faithful in writing before we met. I am glad God had him picked for my best friend too. Mama

We must be on the same wavelength. I want to blog about the importance of friends when dealing with cancer. My wife Kim is my best friend on earth. Keep up the good work making us think!

My Guy is my best friend. He's such an awesome man even though people think he's mean (military face), me and the kids know better!

Funny that you posted this. My k and I were discussing (today) death, of all things. And I thought how devastated I would be if something happened to him and he died before me. I told her that maybe she should pray to NOT meet Mr. Wonderful. She told me there was no way! She saw what Guy and I have and she won't settle for less. *sniff* Isn't it great to be married to your best friend??!!

It's a treasure that I do not take for granted!

When I was a little girl I remember feeling I was going to marry the son of a pastor. I did. I love that about the Holy Spirit.

I also love your love for your Mrs. So sweet and so sweet you have those letters to share together.

xoxox,
R

Peter - she is my sweetheart! I remember in 2000 when the doctor shocked us with mama being very ill - I broke down! She is fine now!

Crossview - anxious to meet this biker/marine!

Roxx - you know mama is so very special - it took me 43 years to train her! LOL

When I first met my best friend, I thought, "I could date him!"
I then got to know him as the "Jesus on campus." He called everyone brother or sister, and I was so stunned when God said to me, "You're in love with Ronnie Jones."

You had me thinking you were a sweet guy until that "43 years to train" her remark. . .

Seriously, you guys are really great and I hope we can really meet this summer.

Be blessed.

Leah - isn't great to have a best friend to talk to??

LA - actually almost 45 - we were engaged almost 2 years. Those 2 years I gave her the crash course on "What every husband wishes his wife knew about obedience". I would be glad to teach that at your ladies bible study group some time. heh heh
