Handling the unknown!

This is papa up on Keops - a great trail horse. Keops was 27 years old when these pictures were taken in 2006. About a year ago he passed away. Just old age -

In the picture to the left it appears Keops is trying to drink water - not so. He is troubled. He cannot tell how deep the water is, horses have a depth perception problem. Keops was a little nervous about crossing the stream and trusting the urging of a new rider, but he finally went across with the gentle urging of papa.

The other thing that helped Keops cross the stream was that there were others on the other side of the stream that had crossed ahead of us. He could see them and knew that they had crossed safely ahead of him. See the picture below.

How are you doing crossing your streams of the unknown? If you are a Christian trust Christ to lead you, learn to recognize His urgings. And remember, there are many of us who have probably crossed a similar "stream" like that and made it. They are over there, praying for you and urging you on to complete God's journey for you.

Seeing the "horse" on the other side is such a tremendous help to those riders on the same path.... ;o)

Crossview - You are so right! All I had to do was get Keops to focus on the others who went ahead of him and he took it one step at a time.

I see you are as god with horses as you are with people.

My problem is more likely to be not gauging how deep the water is and to go plunging in over my head. :)

ED, as you can imagine, papa has been in over his head many a time. lol

Papa, great post. I wish I could completely trust what was ahead - it's a process and I am learning.
Be blessed.

LA - today papa is also having trouble trusting what's ahead. But we shall get there. I am glad I have a Savior who knows my future.

Amen! God will only give us today's mercies because we have no use for tomorrow mercies today. It's the whole concept of letting today take care of itself and not worrying about tomorrow. I hear you! I'm with you!

Be blessed.

And here I thought saying "classic" was nicer than "antique". =P

La - thats where papa gets in trouble - I scheme and plan too much.

crossview - today I feel like that antique.

I am definitely in a place where the depth of the waters are uncertain but am trusting God to carry me to the other side. After all He parted the Red Sea back then and since He is the same today I am willing to believe He will do the same for me.

Love you XO

GCH - Trusting our God as we go through life's journey is not always easy - we are never sure how deep the water is. We just have to trust. Praying for you.

Hi Debs - i don't know if you saw my post for Thursday, May 14, 2009. I have sold Amos - to a good friend. Papa has decided horse back riding is not safe for me. Wore the orange beanie because deer archery season was in full gear where we were riding!
