Not a good day!

Today has been a tough day for papa. I began cleaning out my locker at the stables.

Because of health reasons, I will not ride horses again - too unsafe for papa and I do not want to get hurt or hurt the horse. Sooo, I am in the process of selling Amos.

As we go through life we have to make adjustments. I am grateful for the experience of riding horses. They are magnificent animals that only God could have created.

I am going to try and focus on the blessing side of this great experience and not let this change in my life go in the wrong direction. We serve an awesome God!

I am so sorry Papa. I am grieving with you. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. I am really sad with you, but I heart your heart on this. Still an inspiration even when having hard day. Thank you and I love you. -Roxx

So sorry to hear you have to give up riding. I hope you can find a home for Amos that is near you, so you can visit him. You are doing the right thing in selling him to someone who can ride him.

Our old bones are starting to catch up with us bro. :) Change is one thing we can count on.

If you aren't doing any riding, does this mean you will be spending more time at home bothering, I am "Helping", Mama? :)

Oh my goodness! Sad day for Papa!!!! I'm so sorry. I guess even great horses have to be put out to pasture some time. But so sad! And you must sell Amos! Sadder and sadder! I know I'm not really helping you focus on the positive here, but ... :( I do feel for you.

It's so hard to realize that we can't do all the things we want to - and used to... =(

Last time I did a gymnastics move, I felt it for, well, a long time. My gymnastics days are over.

But slowing down isn't all bad. That's when we finally get a chance to see all the things we've been too busy to notice before.

Just make sure Amos gets a good home!

Roxx - Yep, a tough one today. I have always loved riding horses. It was hard to admit thats what I needed to do.

Ed - the health issue is a tough one to admit to. AMos will likely stay right there - the lady i ride with a lot is strongly considering buying him so that she has a horse for her friends - that is special.

Annie - I probably will get out to see him every so often. I am thankful I haven't been hurt riding.

Crossview - my one fear was that I may have to take him to an auction - but I think we are going to avoid that. He is a good horse.

Jim,
I'm sure this is a very hard but what an awesome spirit that you have about it. I'm sure parting with Amos will be hard but I'm sure that God will bring someone into his life that will love him just as you do/did.

I am sorry you have come to the point of giving up your days with Amos, as I know that was a great outlet for you. I guess this will give you more time to help Mama mow (where is that picture of the mower?), and more time to wash Rust Bucket (that was the name of your newest toy, right?....better known as Varoommmm)

Jammi - thanks for your concern. Your family is in our prayers.

Mama & papa

Carol - that mower is on my facebook page - sorry about that!

Papa, you and Amos have taught me more than you will ever know. How my world has changed in the past year !

Amos will miss you, but he still has his pasture mate (and LOVES her)...I KNOW that his new "owner" will love and care for him as much as you did and still do.
Thank you for being the one to comfort me. Mindy

Hi Mindy! Your a true friend - I will still stop by and check on Amos and his new 'owner' for sure. I think he would miss his pasture mate, that beautiful mare, if he had to move!

Ed! This is Mama and Papa never bothers me. He is just a lovable guy. :) Of course I do enjoy his humor and go along with it.
It is sad that he needed to give up his horse. I am glad he doesn't need to give me up. Ha! Mama
