Why? Please pray!

This is one of those posts that is hard for papa to do - and even harder to understand. I am requesting each of you to pray earnestly for Wendy.

Wendy is an early middle-age mom of nine children of various ages. She has opened her home to these children and many are adopted. She is a Godly woman and a great witness and testimony for Jesus. She took in these children because she believes that this is a ministry God has given her. However, it now appears Jesus wants to take Wendy home and is really testing her faith.

Wendy has a serious / terminal case of cancer - unless God works a miracle. The local medical care in this area have done all that they can do for her. I do believe this week that her parents are flying her out of the country to try a form of new medical treatment. This morning in church mom and dad were annointed for Wendy by the pastor and prayed over.

Even though I have no idea why God is allowing this, I still encourage the family to trust our Heavenly Father. He is in control of this universe - and Wendy. Thank you for praying.

UPDATE May 11, 2009: Wendy and her husband are in Mexico as I type this, looking at other treatment options. Keep them in your prayers.

Oh, how sad. I guess because we live in a fallen world we must suffer illness. Papa, you are doing your part by asking for prayer and encouraging the family to keep their faith. Our friend that died in Feb. was a man who, along with his beautiful and faithful wife, adopted 10 children (7 still at home) and fostered countless others. He took in babies that were born addicted to drugs and nursed them back to health. Yet, God saw fit to take him home. I won't ever understand, but I will always love and trust God because He is in the Throne. Be blessed.

I am in agreement with you about prayer for Wendy. I want to see a miracle. Her parents are the kind that do so much for others, and I want them to see their daughter touched and healed by God, and I want these nine children to have their Mom in their lives. Thank you for posting this prayer request, Papa! May God hear and answer the prayers for Wendy, and allow us to witness a miracle in that family!

Ruth - your prayers are greatly appreciated!

LA - We will never completely understand - until eternity. Then I believe we will know and say; "Now I understand!" Yet - today we trust Him.

carol - I thought that this is important - They are our friends. I think the prayers are important.

I will hold Wendy in my thoughts Papa.

Is sad to hear of someone so loving, and young, who must face this trial.

As a Godly women she has her faith to sustain her. In the end that is all any of us have.

Ed - your concern and thoughts are greatly appreciated. Wendy's dad called me a few minutes ago thanking me for posting this note about Wendy - No father wants their daughter going through this! Thanks again Ed for your concern.

Tam - it doesn't seem "fair" - but I am trusting my Lord that He knows the need and what is His desire. Maybe it is us that He relies on for giving comfort - we need to pay attention.

Love you!

Papa
