"What is your biggest fear?"

Thursday, the 23rd, when the specialist announced I had Parkinsons, later he asked me what was my biggest fear. What quickly popped into my mind surprised me. My biggest fear has really nothing to do with mama or my family, they will be by my side no matter what, they are precious. We are together 24/7.

My biggest fear, is losing you - my blog friends and my Facebook friends.

I turned and looked at the doctor and began to weep as I answered his question. I glanced at mama and she was fighting back tears as well. She knew the answer as well - the biggest toll so far this disease has taken is my typing. I now have to use one hand, one finger. If I lose my blog and my facebook I will be devestated. We love you and feel that we have many friends and passer-bys that we have helped. We have opened our home to you, have given assistance and counsel to many. My fear is that if the day comes that I can not type - that door will close. So far we are doing fine, pray for us. Just as Blogspot and Facebook have become a ministry - so will Parkinsons.

God Bless!
Papa and Mama too

It's funny, but you've been on my mind and heart constantly since the 23rd. God and I have been doing a lot of talking about you. Just wanted you to know...

I would miss you tremendously "online" since I really look forward to your comments and posts. But you can't get rid of me that easily. I still have a phone. And as much as I HATE the phone, I'd definitely keep in contact. But I may not count since I just love you for you and am (thankfully) not in a place of need.

But no matter what - you can still storm Heaven for folks. That doesn't require any typing. ;o)

Just one more 'challenge' to grow your Faith in Papa :-) He will perfect you in everything - if you are willing to work with Him and not against Him.

May i suggest - if it is a 'valid' fear (losing your blog-friends) you have someone help you learn and 'master' voice commands for your computer? Windows (and i believe Google, and probably Apple) have very good programs that let you use your computer exactly as you would with a mouse or typing only by telling your computer what it is you wish it to do - including typing text simply by talking to it. :-)

You don't get away from us that easily young'un. :-)

Parsley - For now I am doing just fine. Thank you for your kind words and I always cherish prayers.

Crossview - your blog, life story is one of those favorite places I like to go - you always paint a different picture of life then I expect. Thank you for letting me in.

Love - Thanks for the words of support. We will watch this one finger closely - so far it really does great. God has really blessed mama and papa.

Tam - you are special. I pray for you and your family by name each night. Mama and I are getting quite a prayer list. You have a wonderful family and ministry and want you to keep Christ focused with both.

We have been - and will continue - praying for you. Whatever we miss here (with us being thousands of miles away), we will catch up on under the Tree of Life when our Lord makes all things new.

I truly look forward with John to a new heaven and a new earth where there will be no more sorrow or pain.

Blessings to you and lots of {{HUGS}} :D

Papa, you have helped so many, and brought joy to all our hearts. I echo what Tam and Love said, we aren't letting you get rid of us that easy.

As others have posted there are many voice activated devices people who can't type send e-mail, blog, tweet, etc. The only problem is finding the one that would work best for your.

A quick google search showed hundreds of on-line resources for people with Parkinson.

The second blog on the list looked interesting, Kate Kelsall's "Shake, Rattle & Roll", a 59 year old "shaky" accordionist who has had Parkinsons for 13 years:

http://katekelsall.typepad.com/my_weblog/parkinsons_blogs/ . She list a ton of uesful sites & blogs.

I look forward to many more years of seeing you share your love and wisdom with the rest of us. If you aren't really that smart, than just keep faking it. :)

Debs - you are one of those special ones (I Have a bunch ! HA!) that I cherish. We pray for you muchly! Thanks for your help and concern.

Ed - What I do best is fake it! If i hadn't I could never have landed mama - that took 800 plus letters to convince her! But it worked! MY son & son-in-law are computer guru's - the best - really. They will step in and help me if and when that time should come. Y'all re the best.

Tam - Ed is one of the best! He is real friend - I was concerned today though- seriously I was thinking. They say there will be no tears in heaven, however, if after walking around there for a thousand years, and I can't find Ed, I am afraid I would sit down and cry - love you Ed.

Papa, Don't worry - i'm sure Ed'll be there...

He'll be over in the Atheist section!

God is no bigot even if we imperfect people are. He can read what is in a man's heart to know if he 'belongs' or not.

Or Ed could just save you some hassle and 'convert' - maybe on his deathbed? ;-)

How 'bout it Ed - save Papa the trouble of walking over to the Atheist lot for a chat? :-)

Love - LOL! Never thought about an "Atheist Plot"!! Maybe we should kind of petition God for one - then we could be sure to visit Ed. I know this, if he ain't there I hope he can still at least blog & twitter!

Wow! What an outpouring of love and support for you! You're a tough cookie and I'm guessing you're stubborn too (I mean that in the best possible way). I think it will be a long time before you need to worry about not sharing with us. God will use you in a mighty way, He will keep you sharing with us for a long time. Please don't worry.
