Girls Camp August 3rd thru August 7th

Starting tomorrow, Monday, mama and papa will be off line most of the week. We are starting a new adventure - "grand parents" at girls camp here for a week. The ages of the girls range from 10 to 12. our task will be to watch for the girls that are homesick, having some kind of adjustment at camp. Papa will be carrying a back-pack stuffed full of stuffed animals to hand out to "girls in need". Mama and I will dress up for the week. Mama has a nice long "granny" dress to wear and I will wear my bib overalls.

There will be services each day with an invitation to the girls to accept Christ as Savior. Mama and papa will pray with these girls.

We are asking that you be our "Prayer Partners" this next week. Thank you and God bless!

Oh how I wish we could join you. My girl is 13 but we'd play, pray and work. Have a great week!

Papa I have a special friend that will be attending this camp for the first time this year. She is a little behind the other girls in socail skills. He name is Kaylyn Lee. I would appreciate it if you could keep your eye out for her as I'm sure that she will be a little nervous this being her first time away from home.

I hope you, Mama, and all the girls have a great time at camp.

Since you are "dressing up" I hope you are wearing your "best" bib overalls. :)

What a neat idea!

But why the past-era clothing? I think I'm missing something??!!

Mama and I are part of that past-era! LOL It helps us stand-out and be more visible.

You mean you wouldn't have stood out among 10-12 year old girls otherwise? *snickering here*

Hey Crossview! I ain't the only old foggie working this camp! HEH HEH

OH! I get it! There's lots of them creatures roaming around. The ones dressed in a peculiar manner are the ones the girls can go to?
Did I get it? =P

Crossview - I wish you were here to see "papa & mama" at work - we just did chapEl with 140 girls - papa has had tears all morning long - lots of hugs - these are very special young ladies! We have had a couple of girls with 'melt downs' - homesick - but are doing just fine now. Mama goes to each cabin at night and says good night - and last night prayed with girls in one cabin - they had just had their devotions - I am weeping, pray for us!

Wow! Sounds beautiful! I'm so glad you two are them for those girls!

I bet those nightly visits from your wonderful wife make things easier for those girls! Bedtime was always the hardest for me....
