I am not going to quit!

This is a picture of Papa's truck - it would have been elgible to turn in for "Cash for Klunkers" program. It is 13 years old, gets poor gas mileage, has 135,000 miles on it and has worked hard - it has done what it was designed to do. It has every right to be retired. The problem is, I need it and I enjoy driving it! So, sorry truck you are stuck with me.

It has a nice rumbling V8 with twin straight through dual exhaust pipes, no mufflers as such - the neighbors won't let me start it before 8AM - it wakes the neighborhood up. It rumbles !! Very cool! It has a solid box to haul a good load, the neighbors like to "borrow" it. It has 4x4 drive and large oversized Mudder tires that will allow it to go about anywhere. Has a class III frame hitch that will tow more than its own weight and then some. Want this truck? Sorry its mine and I need it.

I am tired, wore out, old age is sneaking up fast and I just want to quit. But I won't. You see, my Master, Christ still wants to use me. Maybe my assignments are different that 30 years ago, but He wants to use me - And, just like my truck He likes to spend time with me as we go down life's road together. Yep, its a great life belonging to the Master.

You are so gifted, Papa, at making a spiritual application out of almost anything. This was a very good one!!! The thing is, your truck even looks brand new. We may not look young, but thank goodness God looks on our hearts and sees the beauty within.

Carpe Diem!

Cool truck!
That "cash for clunkers" program was very popular, but in my humble opinion, was one of the most wasteful ideas the government ever came up with. There were perfectly functional vehicles destroyed at the taxpayers expense. They could have been donated to Goodwill to help low income people to get to work.

Peter - It iss a very cool truck and runs great. But like you and me I need to do things to the truck to keep it that way.

What a wonderful analogy! My daddy always said if you take care of the inner workings of a vehicle it will last you a lifetime. The same is with us... keep instep with the Spirit and he will use you as His feet!

Devoted - I think that is one of our major problems - we don't take care of ourselves, spiritually - and physically. I think about it a lot, but I need more action.

Nice truck! So how many miles do you have on YOU? ;o)

Crossview - not sure, but many HARD Miles!! Ha! Hopefully many miles to go - but I "leak oil" a little bit, my plumbing is getting old, some parts just aren't working as well when they were newer. Even have to watch for "surface rust" (skin cancer) - just gettin old girl.
