How is your future looking?

Scripture: “For surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off.” Proverbs 23:18

Future

I am not sure what the future for Amos the horse I ride is. I know that he has to be cared for as long as he is alive and that includes many more trail rides. His health is good even as he is starting to approach his senior years. However, someday he is going to die and be buried without much fanfare. Oh I will miss him and think of the good times we had, but basically, unless God has some other plan for animals, Amos’ usefulness is over. In fact, if I am still riding horses when that day comes I will just get another horse.

Not so for you and I. God’s ultimate plan for us is still somewhat of a mystery. This time on earth is short compared to our time in eternity. I do hope that horses are part of the eternity picture but if not I know that my Savior has great plans for us. One thing is certain; we shall “worship the King of Kings.” I am excited about God’s plan for us and I am planning to be there. How about you? Maybe we can even go on a trail ride together. See you later.

Prayer Thought: I am thankful for your Word, which promises a future with you Lord.

Thank you for the encouraging reminder. Life's struggles really weigh me down at times, but it is not permanent. I have a future home awaiting me.

I am sure if there are horses in heaven, they will be quite tame for this person. :) The very few times I have been on a horse have been interesting. Or behind a horse. Oh my! I was holding on for dear life! :)

Hi Kim! When we get to heaven we will take a nice trail ride - we have to get back by dark - hummm, maybe there won't be dark! LOL

It would be great if that future including us riding off together, hopefully not into the sunset just yet. Although the view might be better for me if I was in the lead. LOL

I don't really focus that much on the future, as I did when I was a young man. Now I just deal with it as best I can.

I will be happy if my tomorrows are as enjoyable as most of my today's are.

I hope the future you faith promises includes riding with Amos, although making up for past sins may mean mucking out the stables for a while. LOL

ED, I hope our future does include you and I riding off together - but yea, not too soon.

i pray you just get ride with no mucking necessary! I have done my share of that!!

I love to think my cherished animals will be there with me and I wonder just what it will all look like up there. But then I wonder if Heaven and eternity and all the other great things will be such that the memories of my dear pets will fade and there are no animals. None of us really knows and that is for certain. I will do all I can to ensure I make it to Heaven to see for myself and to see my wonderful Savior.
Oh hey! Wait for me on that ride but with these knees not sure I can get on a horse anymore! LOL!

The Garden of Eden had animals, so why wouldn't Heaven? ;-)

Michelle - when we get to heaven your knees should be fine! Riding that trail horse will be easy!

Peter - think that Serpent will be there ?? I doubt it!!
