Scripture: Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
Wisdom
One of the things that God did not create in a horse is the ability to use wisdom. I suspect that was intentional. I would probably never be able to catch Amos and ride him if he was able to reason and use judgment to figure out what life was going to bring him. Amos does not make his decisions by applying the knowledge and experience of the past and then evaluating all that information. He does remember and responds accordingly. His memory is simple, if it was good I will comply, if not, I’m out of here – if I can get away.
God has created us with a great gift. We have the ability to weigh our knowledge, experience, and make sensible decisions and judgments. We accumulate this knowledge and experience and can “catalog” the information to evaluate later. I hope I am doing that well. I am sure at times my Savior looks at me and says as we are walking; “what in the world are you doing?” Hopefully He will get my attention so that I make a wise decision. I have found out that what is critical in our relationship is not to wait for the Lord to come and give me wisdom but to seek after it. I must do this as I walk with Him each day.
Prayer Thought: Let me today make wise decisions and help me to seek your guidance.

I am most often compared to a mule, not a horse.
Understanding, which leads to becoming a better person, and learning how better to live with our neighbors in kindness and compassion, is only path to true happiness.
LOL Ed !! Probably fits me too Ed. I think mama would agree with that as well.
Wisdom provides us with a way to get out of our "messes". Yes, and sometimes we complicate that with personal wishes vs. what's best for others.
We all agree that it fits you to Papa Jim! Easy for me to say coming from a proven Missouri Mule! Huggles.
Ha Ha - thanks Michelle!! LOL I am not stubborn - unless you disagree with me.
I like your blog. You have wisdom and are humble about it. I try to have wisdom also but more will come with age...and prayer.
Barb, wisdom comes from many areas of our life, even previous misjudgements makes us wiser. Age does play a factor, as a result, I should be very wise! ha!
I couldn't agree more. Although, lacking patients to wait on God's wisdom is where I make my biggest mistakes...Don't discount waiting on God. No matter how hard we seek after His wisdom we still have to wait to receive it. (THE HARD PART) If you are like me, seeking His wisdom sometimes can become imposing my own ideas. But lucky for us our Father will pick us up, dust us off and pat us on the head. He IS Love.
Papa: I first read this as a definition of wisdom "the ability to choose how you're doing" and thought, wow he's right again!
:)
Mandy - It is a troubling question Mandy, really. Wisdom is so important. I would like to think I am doing better as the years go by. And, yet I watch many even at my age struggle with good choices. We need to be and act wise. We are wise when we recognize "how we are doing" is a definition of wisdom - you make valid point!
