Did not plan to do a part 2 - but after today thought that a part 2 would be appropriate. Today at about 2pm the doctor, a tremor specialist told mama and I that I have Parkinsons. We were not prepared for that, we had ruled that out. It is considered a mild form and we shall see what medication can do.
Not sure what the future holds but mama is there with me and we will cross the finish line together as long as God allows.
The picture was taken Labor Day when mama and I had just finished walking the Mackinac Bridge, approximately 5 miles.
Keep holding my hand mama, we aren't through yet.

Praying God will direct you and the doctors to wise decisions with your health while keeping in mind that God still heals.
Thanks Parsley - our God is a BIG God.
Wonder how it was ruled out before? Sorry - just "typing" aloud.
How long till you know the effects of the meds?
I don't know what God will do with your new diagnosis. Be rest assured He WILL uae it!
And maybe it is for the best. Maybe, just maybe, the meds will help??!! Yes, I'm trying to find that ray of SONshine! ;o)
Crossview - if the medication works it will be a plus. if not - boo hoo!!
God is so good!
Praying for you here in JA. Our God is able to do the impossible, but rest assured that - no matter what - Rom. 8:28 is still valid.
Blessings and {{{HUGS}}}
Ruth - I would love to have a big hug! I need hugs today. Wouldn't that be special? Lets start praying that happens some day!
Papa, I will be praying for you. We have a wonderful faithful God and He will never leave us nor forsake us. I'm keeping you in my prayers. You have the sweetest attitude and a loving wife and the Lord will be with you.
*Hugs* hope all goes well with the meds
Papa, I'm so saddened that this diagnosis has arisen, but I do hope and pray that means you can get the right medication that will bring you comfort and calmness.
How long ago did you walk the bridge? Are you going again this year?
Please rest assured that your life touches many, and through you many who share your ailment will also be touched and encouraged because of your faithful walk, whether across the bridge or in life!
K - Thanks for the hugs - papa is a big-time hugger! :o)
Carol - we walked the bridge on Labor Day 2007. Won't do it this year, haven't gotten in shape. Yhanks for your friendship and prayers.
Trish - thanks for your prayers - we will need them for sure. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for stopping by!
Sorry to hear you have Parkinsons. I hope you can find the right medication to treat it.
The prayers of Mama, and all friends and family, will make sure your spirit stays strong, which is more important than anything else.
As we both know our bodies will begin to break down as we get older, no way around that. Your faith however will never fail you.
Thanks Ed - your comments are always encouraging - except when you remind us we are getting old! LOL
Papa,
We are sorry to hear this news. You are much bigger than any illness. We pray that the doctors have wisdome and help you to get better soon.
We love you two!

Oh Papa, we never know what God will do next in our lives. You are not walking this journey alone - you have your family (that includes all your brothers and sisters in Christ) and we will help you to carry this burden. As long as you can type *smile* you must keep blogging so we can all stay on this road together.
Love In Christ,
LA
Papa: I am so sorry to hear this, God chose you for such a time as this because He knew you could do this. Mama is the perfect example of a perfect helpmate...He will not give you more than you can handle. I'm praying the medicine will work, although I would miss your little shimmy and shake...
Love you Papa...so much.
=)
Peter - Mama and I will deal with this issue with confidence that God is in control.
LA - there is nothing like family to surround you when life comes crashing down on you. Mama will be a great caregiver when the need arises.
Deb - I will shimmy and shake just for you.
