Back to work!
Today was a great day! Mama and I went back to work - as volunteers. We will do this each Friday morning. We have the same opportunity we had last year, assisting ladies and gentlemen that are needing employment look for jobs. We provide transportation and encouragement as we take them to various places looking for employment. Today we took two ladies and one gentleman. The place we volunteer at is THE PATH, you can also link to their site from my blog. Pray for these individuals that they will find work and God's will for their life.
We asked about a couple of gentlemen that we helped last spring and were wondering how they had done. Both are employed now and are out on their own! Praise the Lord! Put us on your prayer calendar each Friday.

Oh that is soooo cool! How amazing to know you helped them to a successful step in life. God has used you two in such amazing ways!
btw papa--no flashlights...sorry. Do a re-gift blog though! I'd be interesting to see what you'd re-gift!
Kim - not sure what I would re-gift! Maybe baby JEsus ?? Not that I don't want him - just want others to have him!
You guys are so much to so many...you are like Everready Bunnies for Christ! Love you both so much, and loved chatting with ya! Smooch!
Deb - we may be bunnies, but we are old bunnies! LOL Love you too - and hug Jer for us too!
Some day I hope to have as much energy as you two seem to have!
What a blessing y'all are to the Kingdom.
yes! ive been wondering about those fellas! Praise God, indeed!
love you!
I know you told me about them, but I was just as happy to read about it..You and Mama were used of God with those guys..God is good, huh? Praising HIm for you both and willingness to help. Such a blessing these posts are to me! love ya!
Michelle - Mama and I are grateful that God can use us. We pray each day that we will be used by Him in the way He sees best. We love HIm.
Tam - I admit I was surprised that the ones we asked about were doing well - They had many hurdles to overcome. I asked God to forgive me for my lack of faith.
Darla - God not only hears our prayers but HE even answers as well.
How marvelous, how wonderful. You truly are the hands and feet of Jesus...or the wheels. God bless you and I have you on my prayer calendar...EVERY day. May our precious Lord and Savior continue to richly bless you as you bless others. Theresa
Devoted - today, Sunday, will be special as the ones we took job hunting will be attending our church as well. So keep them in prayer as well. WE appreciate your prayers.
This sounds like a wonderful ministry. I pray the Lord will give you and Mama just the right words and prayers for the folks looking for work. I hope you guys are having a great time and are having great weather. You were such a blessing to me and I know you both will be a huge blessing to so many others.
I know you are both making a difference where ever you are whether Florida or Michigan or anywhere in between.
"James Jr." (haha) says hello. I'm so crazy about my new daughter. I took her to her first church service today, but it wasn't her first time to church. On our way home from the hospital we stopped at the church and introduced her to our Pastor and his wife. I walked her into the sanctuary and introduced her to our church home. Have I told you I'm in love :)
Nana - weather in the upper 70's low 80's all week - no rain. Yeah, I can handle that!
Robin - we are busy - but last night at church we had several sit with us that we spent Friday with - a great day.
I'm glad you two are back at "work"! What a needed service!
CRossview - what a blessing it has been to us! God haS been so good -. we want to do His will for our lives.
It is great to hear that that the guys you helped last year found work. I fear 2009 is going to be a very bad year for finding, and keeping, a job.
I can't think of a more rewarding experience than helping people. I spend about four hours a week helping out at a shelter. It makes me grateful for what I have.
Hi ED - I think mama and I are the ones that get blessed when we help out. Getting to know these people is a blessing. ARe you coming to Florida this winter?
Papa, I doubt I will be leaving Connecticut this winter. Budget is very tight and I don't think it will get any better in 2009.
Food on the table and a roof over my head. anything else will be a plus. I feel lucky to have that.
Ed - well you keep warm this winter. WE plan to look you up this next fall. We should be in your area the last part of September or early October.
