Trunk or Treat!

Each year during the Halloween season our church has a "Trunk or Treat" night. Children are invited from all over the area to come to the church for a special fun time. The kids come in a variety of costumes! The first hour is a presentation inside for parents and kids with a spiritual theme - this year we had a juggler do the program. After that we serve donuts & cider plus hot dogs.

After the festivities above they go to the parking lot where all the cars are lined up with their trunks open and ready to pass out candy treats. We had close to 250 children plus parents participate. It was cold the night we had it! We bundled up. I did not wear my wig, too cold on papa's ears - mama did though! We dress up in bib overall's & wigs each year. They have a "Best Trunk" judging contest - we did not place. Next year we will be ready! Come & help us - we would love to meet you! Some have corn stalks, one even had a walk through trailer! Very neat! If you get a chance, stop by, we have candy left over - we gave out packages of "fruit snacks" - somewhat healthy - we think! Hope to see you next year!

Sounds like fun!
But....
There was chocolate, right??!! =/

I don't quie understand what kind of a wig. But the idea of you wearing one makes me smile, anyway!

Crossview - chocolate everywhere - except not at our van - sorry! I love chocolate!

I had a bozo the clown red wig but it was just too cold to wear - I preferred a hat and scarf! it was about 30 with nasty winds - but no snow!

Phew! As long as there was chocolate SOMEWHERE! =D

I think I would have worn the wig just for warmth! Along with the hat and scarf. I do not like cold.

Crossview - the wig would not cover my ears - i tried that - the hat was much warmer - did you recognize the hat?? Click on the pic, should blow it up for you!

Little one - it was a lot of fun - but cold this year. If you come next year mama and papa want the three little boys - you can play with the big boy!

Glad you had a good time :) My kids really enjoyed their time at trunk or treat also - if anyone would like to see their costumes - go to my blog - www.actionsspeakloudest.blogspot.com and see the post dated 11-1-08. They were voting booths - so people got to vote early and often :)

Robin - your kids costume's were extra-ordinaire! lol How are you doing - less than 5 weeks to go!

My ticker on my blog tells me I have 33 days to go until my due date... how exciting.

I'm feeling better today - I have my voice again, but its still scratchy and I'm still congested.

I have to get up at 3:30 am and make my husband a big breakfast because he will be an election official working the polls ALL day tomorrow. Pray for his endurance.

That sounds like great fun!

Our youth group did reverse trick-or-treat this year, going up and down the main street handing out lollies! It was great fun!

Robin - well it is now almost over - we need to be praying for our country. How did your hubby do yesterday/

K - thanks for stopping by! We had a great time - lots of fun - but very cool!

Papa - He did okay... got home around 1:30 or 2:00 this morning and has to go to work today... Pray his day goes well.

K - Very cool thing that your youth group did - we need to try that sometime. My kids dressed up as Election Booths for Trunk or Treat and one young girl walked up to my daughter and said that she thought kids should be allowed to vote and she took candy out of her bag and put it in the candidate of her choices slot on my daughter's costume.

K - If you'd like to see a picture of my kids' costumes go to my blog at Actions Speak Loudest and look at the post from 11-1-08.
