Meet one of my three grand kids! Sydney! As I type this all three of my grand kids are somewhere in Kentucky on their way here! They left early this morning with mommy, daddy stayed home to work to pay for the trip! Ha!

The picture was taken last 4th of July. That is Papa's old truck decorated up for a parade.Sydney rode in the back to throw out candy! We had fun, I drove the truck.

They should arrive here in Florida very late tonight. Please pray that they have a safe trip here. Mama is very excited and running around making sure all is ready for grand children!

By the way - Go Michigan State Spartans!! Final Four again! This is the 6th Final Four trip in 12 years!

Any Story Suggestions??

I was shocked when we removed the bandage yesterday! That cut goes clear to the top of my forehead! Aiiii! It does look like it will heal okay with a minimum of scarring - do not want to mess up my baby face!! LOL!!

Never in my life did I figure soaking up some sun rays would lead to this!! Hopefully I can keep from having this done again!! This boy is covering up!! I will not be the guy lying on the beach in Speedo briefs trying to make Tan lines!! Nope! Giving that up! Just hope the previous stupid Sun damage is not too severe!!

How are you doing with your innocent choices? No harm done - right? Are you sure? I guess in 1964, when laying on the beaches in Southern Italy at 21 years of age - I really didn't think it was a bad choice - well, it was, but it took me 45 years to realize it! Come on folks, we can do better with our choices! After all, we serve a Savior who needs our help - lets do better with our choices so we do not harm ourselves - or others!!!

A real Pain!

Yesterday I had MOHS Surgery to remove a Basal Cell Carcinoma spot just over my right eye brow - skin cancer. Surgery went well - but had a lot of pain and right now I can't sleep! It is 4AM! They took 45 minutes just to close it up with stitches! I no longer have that pretty face!! LOL! Only time will tell what kind of scar I have - but I will have one and probably see it every time I look in the mirror. That's what I get for laying in the sun as a foolish kid years ago. I really abused my body with the sun and now I am paying for it - very dumb choice wasn't it?

Sin is like that. Most sin catches up with us. The good news is that Christ will quickly forgive us of our sin if we but repent. He wipes the slate clean - and remembers them no more. Aren't you glad that when our sins are forgiven that we also remember them no more?? WRONG!! Not only are they in our memory banks, but many of the scars we take through life - I know I have some of those as well.

Why not today repent of any sin you have in your life? Get them forgiven and correct the mistakes you can and then move on. The memories? Scars? Let them be reminders that God forgives and will help us to make the right choices now if we follow Him.

Not my Best Day!

Hi - I'd rather be riding Amos right now - missed you today buddy. I am sure Susan is taking good care of you.

Today my skin specialist called and said that the biopsy they did last Tuesday came back positive for Basal Cell Carcinoma - skin cancer but very treatable. The location is just above my right eye brow. Tuesday the 23rd they will do out patient surgery and I will have better info then. I will require stitches so I am still hoping mama will recognize me when they get done. ha! I Will have to come up with some story about how I got the scar on my face!

We would appreciate your prayers, but flowers are not necessary - yet. However cards with cash or a box of chocolate would be appreciated. LOL

A beautiful Song! A great message!

Pie Jesu (Merciful Jesus) Qui tolis peccata munda (Who takes away the sins of the world)

Dona eis requiem (Grant them rest).

Angus Dei (Lamb of God)

Qui tollos peccata mundi (Who takes away the sins of the world)

Dona eis requiem ( Grant them rest)

Sempiternam. (Everlasting).

I saw this video on another blog. Ed, a good friend of mine had this posted on his blog and I really think it has a great message. I like that we serve a Merciful Savior (Jesus). A savior that takes away the sin of the world. And that He is an everlasting Savior!!

Thanks Ed for sharing this song on your blog - it is beautiful.

By the way folks, Ed is an Atheist. Did I mention that?

We have the crud!

Not really feeling good today. Mama started this thing last week and yesterday I got it! Yuk! I am not a happy camper. We both are feeling miserable. Not what I would call deathly sick. Just miserable enough to feel bad, but not sick enough to go to a doctor. Just lay around waiting for it to go away and hoping when you wake up you will be 100% better - and yet doubt that will happen. It is now almost 10PM and I need to go to bed and pray this too shall pass.

I think its kind of like not having Christ in your life. You think you are okay, but yet you really are miserable. Your not that bad that you want do something about it. Yeah, your friends tell you that you should do something about it - but - well - if it gets worse maybe I will, hopefully it will just pass - Maybe in the morning, when I wake up this feeling will go away. No rush, I can make it. Good night everyone - say, what's that loud trumpet sound ???????

I Love Horses!

I love horses - especially newborn's. The picture shown is actually a wild Mustang foal. Odds in life are less than 50/50 that he will make it. In other words, since this photo, probably taken last summer - he is most likely dead. How sad. He may have been preyed upon by a Mountain Lion or another predator.

When they are young, they play hard - enjoy life! They can run fast! They will suddenly find themselves away from the safety of their mothers and the herd - and just outside that safe area - the predator waits. Mothers warn them but they ignore the warnings and then its too late.

We do the same. We fail to recognize the dangers out there and ignore the signs. Maybe it is a flash of pornography that has found a way to catch your attention. It could just be someone who steps into your life when you feel a void in a relationship that is not fulfilling your life. Then you find yourself making a poor choice destroying relationships - maybe even lives of children because you did not recognize the dangers.

Please, make right choices and watch for the dangers of sin. Sin is destructive but Christ can restore. If you have made bad choices you can still make good choices. Today the tempter will await and seek whom he may devour. Do not let it be you - run to the Savior. You say "its too late!" NO its not - if you just read this, that means God has just given you another chance and He wants you to make a right choice - right now.

Are you good at what you do?

Scripture: “Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.”

Psalms 25:4

I have been around horses off and on for many years. When I decided to purchase my present horse the question that I was asked often was; “How experienced as a rider are you?” In other words how much experience have you had handling horses? That was a tough question for me to answer. As a young person growing up on a farm I had learned from my father how to care and handle horses. I became what I considered an excellent horseback rider. Now many years later I had to rethink my experience with horses.

Over the next few months I realized that my previous “experience” was now lacking! I still remembered what I had learned, but crawling back into a saddle was now a new experience. I bounced all over the place and had very limited control. I decided that I could not rely on my past experiences to now kick in and make me that top-notch rider I thought I could be. As a result, I am reading horsemanship books, going to training sessions, working on a horse rescue ranch and riding a horse that is safe for an in-experienced rider to learn on – Amos.

I have been learning through the years as a Christian that this walk with Jesus is a new experience each day. Just when I think I have all the experience I need, I learn something new or do something that I shouldn’t. I am learning that as a Christian I still need to read God’s word and pray daily. If I just rely on my past experiences I may just get into trouble.

By the way, the horse in the picture is a wild Mustang that has been trained by the young lady.

Prayer Thought: Hopefully today I will use my time to develop my Christian experience.
